hmax

The abbreviation "hmax" is most often used to denote the maximum lift/discharge head (or maximum pumping head) of the pump. In the context of pumps, this value indicates the maximum height to which the pump can pump liquid from a reservoir or other source.

In practice, this means that "hmax" is the highest height to which the pump can pump the liquid and overcome gravity pressure and pipe resistance to get it to the desired location.

The maximum lift height (hmax) is important for determining the appropriate pump for a specific application, such as for pumping water to higher tanks, or for pumping water to a remote location.

Note: The abbreviation "hmax" can have other meanings in other contexts, but in the context of pumps it is most often used to denote the maximum lift height.
