Product detailed description
Automatic fire-fighting pressure stations are manufactured in accordance with the regulations of the European standard EN 12845.
European Standard EN 12845 specifies the design principles and conditions for the installation and maintenance of fire-fighting and sprinkler systems in buildings. It replaces the previous standards UNI 9489 and UNI 9490.
Automatic fire sprinkler systems are designed to detect the presence of a fire and extinguish it at an early stage, or to keep the fire under control until it can be extinguished by other means. A conventional fire sprinkler system includes: a water source, a fire automatic pressure station, a set of control valves, and a pressurized water distribution system with sprinklers.
The main pump triggered for fire suppression operates continuously until it is stopped manually by pressing the STOP button on the control panel. In the case of circuits with hydrants, reference is made to the UNI 10779 (July 07) standard which, in accordance with EN 12845, allows the main pump to be switched off automatically in certain circumstances.
Fire automatic pressure station. Under normal circumstances ( no water extraction) the system is maintained under static pressure. At even a small drop in pressure the auxiliary pump is started, its task is to restore the system pressure and thus eliminate small leaks. However, if the water flow is greater ( when the sprinklers are opened), the pressure is further reduced and the main pump is started. Starting of the main pump is done by disconnecting the external circuit with one of the two calibrated pressure switches in series. A pair of pressure switches starts the main pumps at the following pressure values: 4 to 29 m3 /h.
