asynchronous motor

An asynchronous motor is a type of electric motor. It is a rotating electric machine (electric motor), working on alternating current. It is the most widespread drive in electrical engineering ever.

The flow of energy between the main parts of the motor (stator and rotor) is realized exclusively by means of electromagnetic induction, therefore this motor is often referred to as an induction motor. The advantage of an asynchronous motor is high reliability, simple construction and power supply from a normal AC network. The supply voltage can be single-phase or three-phase. Three-phase is more commonly used.
