Electrolyte

Electrolyte is:

a) a compound that is present in the form of ions in a solution or melt
b) electrical conductor II. class, that is, an electric conductor in which the electric charge is transferred by the movement of ions.
The movement of ions causes mass transfer and chemical changes. Ions are larger than electrons, their mobility is lower, so the conductivity is also lower than the conductivity of Class I conductors (metals).

Division of electrolytes
Strong electrolytes — contain only ions (dissociation has taken place completely)
Weak electrolytes — contain both ions and undissociated molecules
