Polyvinylidene fluorine

Polyvinylidene fluorine (PVDF) is a thermoplastic polymer belonging to fluoropolymers. PVDF has excellent mechanical and chemical properties that allow it to be a widely used material in various applications, especially in aggressive and demanding environments.

Some properties of PVDF include:

Chemical resistance: PVDF is resistant to many chemicals such as acids, bases, solvents and other chemicals. This feature makes it suitable for applications that require chemical resistance.

Thermal resistance: PVDF is stable over a wide range of temperatures. Exposure to higher temperatures does not reduce its properties.

Electrical properties: PVDF has good electrical insulating properties, so it is often used in electrical and electronic applications.

UV resistance: PVDF has good UV resistance and is able to maintain its physical properties when exposed to sunlight.

Corrosion resistance: Due to its chemical resistance, PVDF is a suitable material for various corrosive environments.

PVDF applications:

Chemical industry: PVDF is used to manufacture chemical tanks, pipes, fittings and other components that are exposed to aggressive chemicals.
Electrical engineering and electronics: Due to its electrical properties, PVDF is used for the production of insulating components, cable sheaths and other electrical components.
Food industry: PVDF is a safe and durable material for parts that come into contact with food.
Medical: PVDF is used in selected medical applications, such as the dental industry.
Corrosion protection: PVDF is used on exterior surfaces of buildings and structures, where it provides protection against corrosion and harmful environmental influences.
Thanks to its properties, PVDF is used in various industries where resistance to chemicals, heat, UV radiation and other demanding conditions are required.
