1902
The Uhorské Siemens-Schuckert plant was established, the first Siemens factory for the production of generators, electrical machines, apparatus and transformers in Slovakia. Its establishment was prompted by an order for electric lighting for the then 65,000 inhabitants of Bratislava.
1912
In the High Tatras, a tram started running between Poprad and Starý Smokovec with parts and electrical components manufactured by Siemens.
1915
Siemens supplied technologies for the steam power plant in Poprad, built for the Tatranské elektrische železnice
1928
Siemens supplied electrical equipment for the fully electrified Carlton Hotel in Bratislava, including a DC power plant.
1929
Before the outbreak of the great economic crisis, Siemens employed 1,400 people in Slovakia and produced practically all the first electrical equipment in Slovakia. He thus significantly contributed to the electrification of the country.
1931
Even the Prešporská electric street railway could not do without Siemens-Schuckert products.
1945
The buildings of the Siemens factory were significantly damaged by fire and war events. After a three-month effort, the plant started working again on July 18.
1948
After the nationalization of the Siemens factory, Bratislavské elektrotechnické závody was established. After the Second World War, the concern's relations with Slovakia eased, but did not break.
